Gifted and Talented
We are privileged in having some exceptionally able pupils in our school, several of whom are ‘gifted’ (excel academically) and/or ‘talented’ (excel in art, music or sport). All of our lessons and activities are differentiated to challenge the most able, whilst supporting these children to further develop their skills. We participate in competitions both locally and nationally and we believe that by seeking and promoting excellence for our brightest pupils, we raise the achievement of all.
Special Educational Needs
As a non-selective school, we have children with a range of abilities, and also support children with a range of special education needs. Our Special Needs Coordinator (SENCO) Mrs Levy, leads a large team of support teachers, teaching assistants and learning support assistants across the school. We also have dedicated support rooms housing a wealth of resources needed to enhance the learning of children requiring a curriculum that is further differentiated and supported. Dedicated rooms are situated in the Foundation Block, Key Stage 1 and lower and upper Key Stage 2 areas.
