The Governing Body

The School has seventeen Governors. Eleven are appointed by the denominational authority for the Michael Sobell Sinai School, one teacher is elected from among the teaching staff, plus one non-teaching member of staff, elected from among the non-teaching staff, and there are three Parent Governors elected by the parents. The Headteacher has exercised her right to sit as a Governor.

Parent and Staff Governors hold office for three years and denominational appointees for four years; Each year the Governors select a Chairman and a Vice Chairman from amongst their number.

Governors are responsible for the finance and fabric of the school and general policy matters, whether in relation to the educational programme or otherwise, and are ultimately accountable for disciplinary matters relating both to the pupils and teachers.
