HomeAbout UsThe pupil's voice
Our children are the major stakeholders within the school and we value their input.

The children have every opportunity to work with the staff to make a positive difference to their learning environment.

The School has a well respected School Council which consists of elected representation of both boys and girls from Key Stage 2 who work with the Head Teacher and Assistant Head Teacher to discuss and make important decisions about various aspects of school life. Examples of their input would include:- helping to plan our equipment for the playground, expand our physical education programme and clubs, work with our in-house caterers on menus and review at regular intervals our Behaviour and Discipline Policy.

The School also has a Prefect system for nominated Year 6 pupils who have responsibilities across all areas of school life, Peer Mediators who work with their peers in the playground to improve playtimes and Play Leaders who work with the younger children helping them to learn to play new games and play safely and happily together.

The Positive Behaviour Management Policy encourages, recognises and rewards good behaviour in a variety of ways including The Joseph Pinnick Award for Kindness, The Golden Sash Award which particularly recognises and reflects both Our Five Golden Rules and positive behaviour in and out of the classroom, a Housepoint System for K.S.2 and Merit Certificates for K.S.1 which celebrate and value both academic effort and social excellence.
