Japanese Haiku’s written by Year 4

Pupils create their own Japanese Haiku Poems

A haiku is a traditional Japanese poem usually about nature or our emotions.

It must follow this pattern:

3 lines

Line 1 – 5 syllables

Line 2 – 7 syllables

Line 3 – 5 syllables

So few words – yet so much is said!

Read these fantastic haiku’s.

Part of our the pupils success criteria was to make the reader think. Did you have to think or was the subject obvious?
