The Sinai School Council
The School Council were democratically elected by the classes in Key Stage 2. They are the voice of the children in the school. They take ideas to meetings to discuss. We are partnered with Glebe Primary School – a local inclusive ‘Rights Respecting School’ where pupils, parents, staff, governors, and local services work in partnership to meet the needs of the community.
The Sinai School Council is made up of a representative from each junior class. The Council’s aim is to help the school improve in a number of different areas with ideas, comments and suggestions. If children have a comment to make, there is a ‘Suggestion box’ in every classroom into which children are encouraged to post suggestions and comments. Each class chooses 2 Councillors to be their representatives, by first listening to candidates’ ideas and then voting for their preferred candidate (1 boy and 1 girl). Meetings are held regularly in the Conference Room and the Councillors chair and Minute these meetings with guidance from Senior Staff. At least once a year- the Governors are invited to meet the School Council and field questions from the school councillors.
The School Council is just one demonstration of our British Values ethos.
