Year 1 are looking at the features of instructional writing in English (using a verb, headings and time conjunctions) via a carousel of different activities. They were making jam sandwiches, following a clear set of instructions. They were also drawing a picture of a dog and giving instructions to a friend, working together they were making a tower of cubes and also following the instructions in a game of snakes and ladders. Lots of instructions being given and being listened to. They will be putting this learning to good use in their next long write.
